Cloud Seeding and the Environment
As the climate continues to change and the natural variability of clouds and precipitation increases, water is becoming an increasingly valuable commodity.
Cloud seedings allows us to provide a helping hand to mother nature during storms that meet carefully chosen criteria. Water is a valuable resource and many areas of the world are in a state of drought or at risk from water shortages due to a lack of precipitation, the incremental increases produced during seeding can have benefit areas that need additional precipitation. Managing this essential and valuable resource is becoming more difficult as demands from agriculture, industry, and municipalities strain a limited water supply. Cloud seeding is a safe, effective and powerful modern tool that can provide low-cost clean water to many of the semi-arid regions of the world.

WHO WE ARERHS Consulting, LTD is a weather modification company that was founded in in 1999 in response to a renewed interest in cloud seeding as a water augmentation tool. The experienced lead staff began their involvement with cloud physics and operational cloud seeding over 40 years ago. RHS specializes in weather research, meteorology and weather forecasting, hydrology and water resource management, and trace chemistry, as well as project planning, management and evaluation. RHS is committed to creating programs that operate with safety and efficacy. All designs and materials used take into account the environmental effects for the local area and we remain committed to implementing safe and effective programs. Strict safety standards are in place for each project and project suspension criteria are in place and implemented immediately if needed.

WHAT WE DOMany areas of the world are experiencing water shortages and usage conflicts because of drought and ever increasing demands placed on them by population growth and climate change. Pressures on water supplies are exacerbated by often-conflicting needs such as agriculture, municipal, hydroelectric generation, recreation, endangered species protection and other environmental issues. By using scientifically based methods and modern technologies, cloud seeding can improve a cloud's ability to produce precipitation. When natural cloud systems cannot produce precipitation efficiently, cloud seeding can be used to help optimize the precipitation process. Cloud seeding also has the advantage that it can generate additional clean water for all uses at a relatively low cost. Increased precipitation at a high benefit ratio makes cloud seeding an attractive option to water resource managers. The need for cloud seeding and other weather modification programs will become more important as we see continued changes in our climate and global warming.
